KWC is Korea’s leading wine competition, hosted by Wine Review, the country’s only wine magazine. In 2025, Ms. Jeong Eun Choi became the new publisher and CEO, strengthening KWC’s governance and judging system.
KWC evaluates wines through a strict blind tasting process, with panels of qualified judges assessing color, aroma, taste, and balance, starting from a base score of 50 up to 100. Awards include Trophy for each wine type (red, white, sparkling, rosé, sweet, fortified), Best of Country, and Best Importers.
Participation is open to all wines already in Korea or planning to export, with entries accepted from March 3 to June 19, 2026. Wines are pre-classified by type, country, region, and variety to ensure fair comparison. Judging is fully blind, with service temperature and exposure carefully managed.
Results are published on the KWC website and in the August issue of Wine Review. Winning a KWC award signals a wine that suits Korean tastes and helps international wineries promote their products effectively in Korea.
