About the United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is an incredible country that captivates at first sight. Over the past decades, it has experienced incredible economic development. Capital: Abu Dhabi, Official language: Arabic, Common languages: Emirati Arabic, English, Continent: Asia. The UAE is administratively divided into 7 emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain), which are actually equivalent monarchies. Each of them is headed by a ruler, an emir, who combines the highest secular and spiritual power.
Sharjah is the most conservative emirate. The emirate bases its law on Shariah. Women must dress modestly and are not allowed to drink or bring alcohol.
Ajman is the smallest emirate with an area of only 460 square kilometers. The city’s business card is a fort in the middle of the desert.
Umm Al Quwain is the emirate with the smallest population. Umm Al Quawain means “mother of two strong” in Arabic. Unlike Sharjah, the emirate with an 18th-century fortress that now houses a museum is quite liberal with alcohol.
Fujairah is the most picturesque of all the emirates. The place attracts with its beauty and sights. 90 kilometers of wide sandy beaches with the rocky Al Hajar Mountains in the background. Fujairah is the center of many 5-star hotels, which are characterized by affordable prices compared to Dubai.
Ras Al Khaimah is the most diverse emirate in terms of landscape, with attractions such as the pearl farm and the picturesque Al Hajar Mountains with the highest peak in the Emirates, Jebel Jais, the orange desert and the turquoise waters of the Persian Gulf.
Abu Dhabi is the richest and largest emirate and one of the largest oil-producing areas in the world (the emirate covers 86% of the country’s territory).
Dubai is the most famous and luxurious emirate. It is home to the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa, and the world-famous 7* underwater restaurant of the Burj Al Arab Hotel.
