OUR HISTORY
On the slopes of the archaeological area of Monte Jato, about thirty kilometers from Palermo, in the Belice valley, a very fertile and generous land, in an area rich in history and traditions, we find the Cantina Don Tomasi, born in 2004 thanks to the initiative entrepreneurial, but above all to the great bond with their land of the partners-producers: Giuseppe Terrasi & c.
Don Tomasi, aware of the need to supply such a large and demanding market with high quality products, has made the commitment of his partners increasingly hard and essential to preserve their business.
Its members have always made passion and dedication their main characteristics and strengths, combining in a cutting way, the right balance between production quality control, integrated marketing and business dynamism.
Each process is studied and followed by phase. Consequently, the final product, ready for the consumer, is optimal and addressed to a higher reference target, for expectation and
competence.
TERRITORY
Sicily, an island of culture and history, a place where the hard work and sweat of its people become the lifeblood of a fertile land with high quality products. There, where wine is identified by its territorial belonging, thanks to the love and commitment of all the people who work in the sector.
The company is located within the territory that includes the historic farm of the Terrasi family, whose vine and wine culture has been handed down from generation to generation, since the times of the Second World War
The company is located at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level. The vineyards are cultivated with espalier and its density is 4000 - 5000 plants per hectare.
The vines present are for the whites: Cataratto, Grillo, Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Grigio; while the vines with black grapes are: Nero D'Avola, Syrah and Cabernet.
All the vineyards are cultivated with the most careful and scrupulous work by the producer members, their families and a group of farmers of fame, experience and professionalism.
The vineyards, carefully supervised by competent technicians, are all treated with controlled and certified bio-compatible methods.
The harvest is processed manually and placed in plastic crates, to preserve the quality of the grapes.
The cellar is equipped with the most advanced technologies for vinification, maturation and aging of wines; these processes, studied and followed at every step by professionals in the sector, ensure that the finished product, ready for the consumer, is of excellent quality and is positioned in a high reference target.
MISSION
In an increasingly inflated market, in a commercial scenario of the wine sector in which we are often confronted with realities whose objectives are always and in any case dictated by quantities, sacrificing the quality and typicality of the productions, we at Don Tomasi strongly desire being able to propose a product that can make it a source of pride.
To offer the final consumer a distinctive wine that can be a reference to excellence, and that can be of great reference to the Sicilian territory.
