Cantina Zehnhof
It all began in 1928 when Iginio Rossi bought the first plot of land in Roverè della Luna, Trentino-Southtyrol. The winegrowing business then continued with Giovanni, Iginio’s son, up to Giacomo, the 3rd generation. Not only Pinot Gris, but also Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Lagrein form the backdrop to a context that is as characteristic as stimulating. In 2019, almost a century after the first vine was planted, Giacomo created Zehnhof family owned Winery, the most authentic expression of a tradition handed down from three generations of enthusiastic winegrowers.

The Laiten selection grows on steep hills in lean and pebbly soil, rich in limestone. This rare textured soil gives to this Lagrein its fresh aroma of blackberries and raspberries, combined with a velvety tannin that gives harmony and balance. Deep ruby red colour; great harmony on the nose with fragrant feeling of berries and spices on a warm and enveloping background reminiscent of chocolate. Rich, complex taste and long taste-olfactory persistence; sweet and silky tannins.

Lammer is Zehnhof’s first wine: Pinot Gris, which has always been the pride of Roverè della Luna, an area historically recognized and mentioned in all the best wine books. It is characterized by a straw yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose is extremely complex and varietal thanks to a delicate and elegant slight note of vanilla pods, hints of Mediterranean citrus and freshly picked fruit reminiscent of pear.
